All specimens displayed on this page are Golden Barytes from The Dreamchaser Claim,
Lane County, Oregon, USA
Here is a wonderful cluster of golden barytes on matrix. The crystals are 98% transparent, have good luster, and no damage. Some of them have tried to revert to a chisel tip termination, and they do not have the second generation or preferential overgrowth, making this quite a pristine specimen. This was found in the lower region of the Humdinger Pocket during the 2012 work season. This specimen measures roughly 7.5 x 4 x 3.2 cm. Specimen 12-701.

A great larger, single baryte, with multiple smaller crystals clustered with it on its backside. There are also multiple smaller second-generation barytes growing upon the main face of the larger crystal, and a slight preferential coating. There is one very slight knick along the top edge of the large crystal as shown in the second photo, but is a very minimal distraction. Contact on the bottom of the cluster where it was attached to the matrix. This specimen also hails from the depths of the Humdinger Pocket and was also found during the 2012 season. This piece measures in at roughly 7 x 5 x 2.7 cm. Specimen 12-702.

A nice and aesthetic cluster of barytes, with a strong second generation of smaller crystals grown upon the larger crystals from one direction. The crystals still have good luster, and the contact is on the bottom of the specimen where it was attached to the matrix. A few slight abrasions. This piece measures in at approx. 6 x 6 x 3cm. Specimen 12-703

This cluster of barytes has a very 'laid-back' feel to it. The larger crystals have a strong coating of the second generation of smaller barytes, but it does not have much of the preferential coating. There is contact on the bottom, and a very slight bit of excess matrix which could be removed (see lower right/front area in photo one) but I feel it could cause major damage to the rest of the specimen if attempted. This piece measures in at 7.3 x 6 x 3.2 cm. Specimen 12-704

An absolutely beautiful specimen of larger barytes from the claim! While there is contact on the bottom of the specimen, this piece displays quite well from all other angles. THe crystals have decent luster, and minimal preferential/secondary growths. This specimen measures approx. 6 x 6 x 3.3 cm. Specimen 12-705
